Wayne and Coleen Rooney are blissfully happy and expecting their second child together, but there was a point when it seemed as if their marriage would be torn apart by prostitute Jenny Thompson's revelations.
Two and a half years ago, Jenny Thompson revealed to the press that she had been meeting with footballer Wayne Rooney for paid sex sessions while wife Coleen was pregnant with son Kai.
Jenny was liberal with the details, explaining to the press that she and Wayne would meet for two hour appointments at the five star Lowry Hotel in Manchester, which earned her a cool £1,200 each time.
Now Jenny has come forward to The Sun to explain that, since becoming a mother herself, she feels incredibly guilty for hurting Coleen:
"I feel a horrible guilt at what I did to Coleen."
"At the time I justified it to myself as just a job, but I feel horribly responsible for tearing a family apart like that."
"I made mistakes which I deeply regret, but now I want to set my daughter a good example and focus on being the best mum I possibly can."
While we're sure the apology is a nice gesture, it seems unfair that Jenny should heap all of the blame onto herself - after all, for her it was just a job. For Wayne Rooney, it was a knowing betrayal of his pregnant wife Coleen.
Thank goodness the Rooneys were able to work through their marriage problems and get themselves back to the blissfully happy couple the public knows and loves.
