In the United States you haven't really made it until you've been spoofed by Sesame Street, and that's why as one of the most popular shows in the US, Britain's very own Downton Abbey has now got the treatment.
As usual for the puppet based kids TV show, it's a relatively affectionate parody, converting the upper-class backdrop of Downton into 'Upside Downton Abbey', a place where everything is... upside down, with annoying consequences for the residents.
Best illustrated as a Sesame Street style Countess asks: “Why is the tea not going in my cup?” Before her butler replies: “Perhaps because we are upside down Ma’a.”

As ever by taking a simple concept and taking it to absurdity, Sesame Street's parody is just downright hilarious, and won't just be enjoyed by the show's target audience of kids.
Plus, given the speed at which the original series itself is descending into absurdity, the idea of 'Upside Downton Abbey' perhaps doesn't seem that far-fetched.
