She's anxiously preparing for the birth of her first child, but Kate Middleton could well be guided through those early days of parenthood by an old hand in the form of mum Carole if recent reports are anything to go by.
The 31-year old Duchess officially announced that she is expecting her first child with second in line to the throne Prince William last December, and with the baby due to be born in July her 58-year old mother is said to be moving into the spare bedroom at the couple's spacious Kensington Palace home until Kate has settled into the routine of motherhood.
The fresh rumours stem from an interview former college friend Jessica Hay conducted with an Australian magazine, during which she also revealed details of the alleged treatment Kate was receiving while being treated for severe morning sickness shortly before Christmas last year.
Duchess Kate is said to feel 'betrayed' by Hay's decision to go public with details regarding her private life - but it's not the first time she's leaked stories to the press.
Speaking to The Mirror shortly after Kate announced her pregnancy, Hay claimed the Royal couple had been trying for a baby all year.
“William and Catherine are absolutely overjoyed with becoming parents. It's the most thrilling news to end a wonderful year,” she said. “Catherine's been steadily putting on weight since April this year and hasn't been drinking...they've been preparing all summer.”
