Adele was congratulated by her music industry friends including Rihanna and Kelly Clarkson last night following her win at the 2013 Oscars.
The 'Someone Like You' singer won the Best Original Song award for her James Bond ballad 'Skyfall', making it the first Oscar for the singer who also performed the theme track at the ceremony.

After fending off competition from 'Life of Pi', 'Les Miserables' and 'Ted', Adele was flooded with congratulatory tweets from her peers including Rihanna, Kelly Clarkson and even Bette Midler who took to Twitter to send their positive messages to the singer. “Jah Reign #Adele congrats on your first Oscar,” Rihanna tweeted on Sunday.
Kelly wrote: “Way to go @officialadele!! Super happy for you girl! ....and awesome speech :)”. '500 Days of Summer' actress Zooey Deschanel also tweeted: “Adele is pretty perfect”.
Adele, 24, also received praise from none other than Bette Midler, who wrote on her official account: “Ok trying again the beautiful @OfficialAdele wins The Academy Award! Good on ye girl!! So thrilled for you!”
The singer's performance at the Oscars was the first time she has sung on stage since giving birth to her son in October.
