Some celebrities might seem out of this world, with their extravagant Hollywood lives, but Aussie Oscar winner Russell Crowe has gone one step further claiming to have actually filmed a UFO while he was out at night with his friend.
The Les Miserables actor claimed he had been looking for fruit bats last week in Australia and while filming at the Sydney's Royal Botanic Gardens claimed to have actually spotted something a whole lot more exciting – an alien.
He wrote on Twitter last night as he posted the link to his video: “UFO? Time Lapse Photos Outside RC's Woolloomooloo Office (THESE ARE REAL!)”
He went on: “Canon 5D, No Flash, can't be a lense flare because it moves , camera is fixed,”
Soon after he tweeted the video again, saying: “A friend and i set camera to capture fruit bats rising from Botanic Gardens, this was a big surprise.”

According to Sky News the footage was taken from Crowe's apartment in Woolloomooloo, around 250 metres from the gardens. But not everyone's convinced, with one Tweeter writing: "Just an insect or some such reflecting the light on the other side of the trees into your time lapse camera".
While another added: "Definitely is the real deal. All the signs and indicators are present. blurry, unfocused, 3 frames only, reliable provenance, incorrect exposure factors. All real UFO images are like this."
The Aussie actor recently returned from Los Angeles where he performed at the Oscars alongside his fellow Les Miserables co-stars. After splitting from wife of nine years Danielle Spence in October the Gladiator hunk has been linked to fellow Australian Natalie Imbruglia and more recently Les Mis co-star, British brunette Samantha Barks.
