The Voice 2013: Jessie J Duets With Former X Factor Contestant

Tonight’s The Voice had two stand out contestants, who both grabbed the judges’ attention.

Elise Evans and Lemuel Knights both gave great performances, which saw them sail through to the battle rounds.

Elise is a south wales girl who took to the stage with Etta James’ Something’s Got A Hold On Me. Tom Jones turned first but it wasn’t long until the other three followed, leaving Elise with a tough decision.

She quickly narrowed it down to two – Jessie J and Tom Jones – as they were the only two people she had ever seen in concert. However she decided to stay true to her welsh roots and opted for welsh crooner Tom Jones, who was delighted to have snagged the singer for his team.

Lemuel Knights was the other stand out performance, with his soul singing. Danny turned first with Jessie J quickly following him. Tom Jones followed leaving Will.I.Am as the only one who didn’t press his button.

Lemuel first came to the publics’ attention in 2011 when he performed on the X Factor. But tonight he wasn’t performing alone. After his performance, the popstar made a special plea for him to join her team – by singing with him.

Before she sang there was a war of words between Tom, Danny and Jessie, making the battle for Lemuel ugly. However it turned sweet again when Lemuel and Jessie J duetted on her track Do it like a Dude. Will.I.Am tried to help the singer out, telling him to stay true to himself and the contestant went for Jessie J.

Also on tonight’s show we saw guitar playing, Ed Sheeran lookalike Conor Scott grab a place on Danny’s team. He played the guitar to his own version of Ellie Goulding’s Starry Eyed and although Danny was the only one to turn around, it seems they will make a good team!

What did you think of tonight’s show?
