Tom Cruise's latest thriller Oblivion is expected to sail to the top of the US box office this weekend, ahead of surprisingly successful Jackie Robinson biopic 42.
The thriller, which co-stars Morgan Freeman, is on course to rake in $38 million.
42, meanwhile, which stars Harrison Ford, is on course to hit $17.5 million, polling second place, knocking The Croods to third with $9.7 million.
Scary Movie 5 and GI Joe: Retaliation will complete the top five, but the order of them is still up in the air - as both are on course for a $5.8 million haul.

Further down, The Place Beyond The Pines is looking at a $4.5 million gross, and the Top 10 will be completed by Olympus Has Falle, Evil Dead, Jurassic Park 3D and Oz The Great and Powerful; all heading for a gross between $3-4 million.
42 is a biographical sports drama about legendary baseball hero Jackie Robinson, with newcomer Chadwick Boseman in the lead role.
It has earned favourable reviews, and currently holds a 76% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
