Slyvester Stallone has appointed an Australian director for the new movie The Expendables 3, but has quashed rumours suggesting that it is Mel Gibson.
The Hollywood veteran is currently gearing up for the production of the star-studded cast, that has previously included Liam Hemsworth, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, Jason Statham and himself, and now a director has been signed up.

According to The Hollywood Reporter's Heat Vision blog, Australian filmmaker Patrick Hughes has been put at the movie's helm for it's third instalment.
Tweeting about the appointment, Stallone wrote a series of tweets: "The director is an Aussie........."
Before adding: "NOT Mel...Fresh talent... Directed a Damn good film 2 years ago...Think." Stallone also added: "Ok .. Last HINT He is NEW.. the last film he did was more RED than BLUE..."

Jason Statham and Dolph Lundgren are already confirmed to return to the popular franchise, while Wesley Snipes, Jackie Chan, Vinnie Jones and Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, are all expected to feature in the new movie.
