Alexa Chung might be a British style icon living in New York, but the willowy brunette certainly had a love affair with the French on Wednesday night as she shinned in Chanel at the fashion houses' 8th annual Tribeca Film Festival Artists' Dinner.
TV presenter and general trendsetter, Chung kept her style as simple as ever in a cream short sleeveless shirt dress from Chanel, no doubt a nod to her hosts, teaming it with black strappy sandals and black clutch, creating a monochrome look.

The 29 year-old, went for minimal hair and make-up, with trademark lose, messy waves and a slick of red lipstick. Chung is no stranger to Chanel, once described by creative director Karl Lagerfield as "beautiful, clever" and a "modern girl", and it's hard to get a compliment out of him. But despite her designer threads, the Brit star insists she's no fashion horse, despite having a Mulberry bag named after her.
Speaking to The Stylist earlier this year, the brunette described her style inspiration as Nirvana front man, Kurt Cobain.
"Mick Jagger or Kurt Cobain if I’m feeling tomboyish," she revealed, "On a girlie day, it’s Jane Birkin or [French singer] Françoise Hardy."
But Chanel did get a nod when it came to her stlye staples, she said: "My denim shorts, which I wear almost daily. Other than that it’s an antique cameo ring I got from Spitalfields Market in east London or my small Chanel bag."
And while she might have left British shores for the US, it appears she's still championing London as the style capital of the world, adding: "London street style is the best in the world. Fact."
