We watched Natalie Coleman take the title of Masterchef 2013 on the show's finale last night, but it appears we weren't the only ones as it has been reported that 5.5 million tuned in to watch Natalie beat Larkin Cen and Dale Williams to victory.

Having impressed judges Greg Wallace and John Torode with her dishes throughout the series, Natalie took the title and the gong and according to the Metro, 5.5 million tuned into watch as the judges called out Natalie's name.

Believing they chose the right person for the title of winner, John Torode said of Natalie:

"She not only understands finery of great food but she cooks for the people, food that people want to eat. She makes people smile and she’s not fazed by a thing.

"She also has a great palate and understands flavour combinations."

Greg Wallace added: “Natalie is an incredible talent who grew in stature day after day. I don’t think she is fully aware of how good she really is. I love her food because it comes straight from the heart.”

Speaking about her win, the part time DJ from East London told the Mirror:

"It’s a dream come true. This is probably the best thing that’s ever happened to me in my life.

"It’s like a fairytale really, the girl from Hackney done good."
