A video has been released showing Dame Helen Mirren running into the street in full costume yesterday to ask a group of noisy street drummers to keep it down.

Dame Helen is playing the Queen in Olivier Award winning play The Audience at London's Gielgud theatre in the heart of Soho. Yesterday the performance had an added soundtrack when a group of street drummers, promoting upcoming LGBT festival As One In The Park, pitched up outside the theatre for an impromptu performance.

The actress was not happy with the disruption but instead of simply asking an aide to run outside to deal with the matter, Dame Helen herself stormed out in her costume to confront the troublemakers!

Band organiser Joe O'Leary, told The Mirror: "This little old lady came running out in a green dress, pearls and a tiara and headed for the conductor. She was saying, 'shut the f*** up, people have paid f***ing a hundred pounds for their theatre tickets'. She said the F-word about 20 times."

"I kept saying, 'we didn't realise' and she was like, 'just shut the f*** up'. You couldn't get a word in edgeways, she was proper on a rant."

Wow! A video of the incident has since been released where Dame Helen can be seen in the middle of the drummers trying to tell them to quieten down.

Comedian Chris Dangerfield, who filmed the incident, told the Mirror: "I saw a women come out of the stage door and I knew it was Helen Mirren straight away. You could tell she was angry as she pushed her way through the crowds in a blue cardigan and confronted the conductor of the troupe."

"She was flailing her arms around and repeatedly gesturing towards the theatre."

According to audience members, the actress later announced on stage she had "sorted" the drummers using "some not polite language" during the interval.

It looks like the Helen's rant did the trick as the actress has even been offered a free ticket to watch the gig later this summer - which will feature Conor Maynard, Rita Ora and Union J. "Obviously we are terribly upset if we caused her any distress. If she'd like to attend the festival she'd be more than welcome," Head of Marketing Mark Williams said.
