By On

Yesterday Hillary Clinton became the latest famous face to leap head-first into the world of Twitter, which seems to us like the perfect excuse to dig up other celebs' first ever tweets - from the witty to the disappointingly boring.

Justin Bieber, for example, may now be the most-followed Twitter user on the planet - but his first ever message on the micro-blogging network was just a dull plug for his latest single. Kim Kardashian also just made her debut with a simple 'Hi'.

But other famous faces spiced up their arrivals with the odd quip or hint at the personality to come. Ellen DeGeneres, for example, is well known for her light-hearted, tongue-in-cheek approach to social networking, and she made that her thing from the off. So did Taylor Swift.

So from the funny to the insightful to the downright boring, check out this handful of celebs' first ever tweets.
