The Voice Coach Admits Leanne Mitchell's Poor Album Sales Are 'Embarrassing'

The singer's album only peaked at number 134

By On has unleased his fury over Leanne Mitchell's poor record sales since winning The Voice last year and says that "somebody should get slapped" for not promoting her debut album.

Leanne's self-titled debut album was released in May but it instantly bombed peaking at a hugely disappointing 134 on the UK charts and selling fewer than 1,000 copies, despite the singer winning The Voice in 2012.

'Scream & Shout' hitmaker, who is a coach on the BBC One talent show, believes that the record label did not prioritise Leanne's record hence the reason for its poor chart performance.

“The record company should be freakin' embarrassed. Somebody should be held accountable,” told Radio Times.

“These singers are on television every week. So you've already accomplished things that stars don't accomplish.”

He added: “Do you wait a year later? Somebody should get slapped because you waited too long.”

Adding further insult to injury, this year's favourite contestant Leah McFall is currently at number five on the iTunes chart with 'I Will Survive' which she performed on the talent show earlier this month and is at number eight on the official UK charts.
