Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's daughter might have the unusual name of 'North' but according to insiders it's got nothing to do with the rapper's last name, but because they see their daughter as the "North Star".
Baby North was born on June 15 a reported five weeks before her due date in July. While the couple haven't confirmed the baby's name multiple sources have reported it's baby North, with TMZ producing a copy of the baby's birth certificate from the Cedars Sinai Medical Centre where Kim gave birth.
According to sources close to the showbiz couple have claimed they see North as a metaphor for "up" reportedly telling friends: "What's North of North? Nothing."

The name is reportedly meant to honour the baby as the highest point in their relationship, with their new daughter their "North Star". While there have been several reports the couple were so overwhelmed by the arrival of their first child they became engaged, sources close to the pair have said it's not the case.
"I can't imagine them not getting married. That's in their future!" a source told People magazine.
Insisting the couple were concentrating on their new arrival.
"They're putting work aside right now to focus on the family. They're in it 100 percent," the close insider added. "Kanye is already an incredibly present father. He's very relaxed and comfortable."
