Max George says his band The Wanted chose to scrap plans to release their third album last year because it was 'rubbish.'
Following the enormous success of second long-player 'Battleground' in 2011 the popular boyband were under pressure from record company bosses to record a follow-up – but the 'dissapointing' results led to them making a tough decision.
“We didn't have one out last year because it was rubbish,” said a candid Max during an interview with Key 103's Breakfast Show. “We cobbled together a third album but because we were away so much we literally had no time.

“Then the record label wanted it out there because that's where they make most of their money but we were just like, 'It's rubbish, we don't like it' – we didn't want to put something out that was just for the sake of putting it out.
“So after a few arguments, we agreed for the next few months we'd be getting economy flights and all that sort of stuff so we're cutting back. But that was fine. We are really happy with what we've got now.”

One of the tracks they're particularly pleased with is latest single 'Walks Like Rihanna' – but while the band might be happy, the RiRi inspired song has divided fans.
However, Silva Kaneswaren insists they won't be dissapointed when the third album finally drops.
“When you hear these songs you're going to think, 'These songs will break.' And not like cheesy boyband, but pop-rock. We call it sensible pop,” he told Digital Spy.
“I think it's our best album yet. It's very personal to us and has hit after hit on it.”
