Although the Doctor Who 50th anniversary special may still be a while away, we take a look at all the rumours that are circulating and try to work out what we may see on our screens this November.
Doctor Who fans have not been given much to work with when they try and figure out what they will see on the special episode - although the plot has been kept tightly under wraps, little hints of what we might see have managed to sneak through.
The BBC released a video entitled #thefourth and fans immediately thought of the fourth, and arguably favourite Doctor, Tom Baker.
These suspicions only went into over-drive when throughout, the video makes reference to the era of Doctor Baker, ending with him whispering, ‘don’t you forget me’.
So will the fourth Doctor be making an appearance?
This is a question that has intrigued viewers of the sci-fi series, along with how many Doctors will be seen in the episode. Will it just be the modern doctors? Or will all Time Lords be seen to make an appearance?
This brings us to 10th Doctor, Christopher Eccleston who has been reported to have declined his part in the anniversary celebration. However fans are not giving up that easily and many are hoping that Steven Moffat the writer will convince him to be popped in later on.

And from Doctors to their counterparts. David Tennant and Billie Piper will be reunited, as will Matt Smith and Jenna Coleman, sparking rumours as to what will happen between the pair.
Joanna Page will also be making an appearance and her character is still unknown, but if speculation is correct she may play the part of Elizabeth I.
Other famous faces are also making an appearance, as David Bradley who played Argus Filch in the successful Harry Potter films will be taking on the role of William Hartnell.
Despite having a lot of hints about the cast the plot is been kept very secret. The extend of what we know is that Smith dropped a very cryptic hint about paintings and we have seen filming at Trafalgar Square.

We also know that the story will be a long one with Moffat telling Entertainment Weekly: “It’s a special episode. I think you could call it movie-length, yeah. I mean, I’m saying that with a slight hint of vagueness because I don’t know the finished running time”.
And then what’s next for the Doctor?
Matt Smith has announced that he will not be returning to the series, leaving the role free for a new Time Lord to come in and take over.
There has, of course, been a great deal of speculation as to who the new Doctor should be.
Dame Helen Mirren and John Barrowman have supported the idea that a female Doctor should take over.
But with Miranda Hart and Olivia Coleman both refusing to take on the part the list grows ever longer.
Names included range from Dominic Cooper to Idris Elba and Daniel Radcliffe but fans will have to wait a bit longer until the new owner of the Tardis is confirmed, and in the meantime the debate can continue!
