Superman and Batman will team up on screen for the first time in a new movie - the sequel to this summer's blockbuster hit Man Of Steel. Exciting!
British actor Henry Cavill will reprise his character as Clark Kent but it is still unknown who will take on the role of Batman.
Director of the recent Superman reboot, Zack Snyder and screenwriter David S Goyer, who worked on the The Dark Knight trilogy will oversee the project with Christopher Nolan as the executive producer.
The surprise announcement was made by Snyder at the San Diego Comic-Con yesterday (July 20). Man of Steel star Harry Lennix was brought out to read a message from Frank Miller's Dark Knight Returns.

"I want you to remember Clark," he said. "In all the years to come. In all your private moments. I want to you remember my hand at your throat. I want you to remember, the one man who beat you."
The message was then followed by the appearance of a Superman/Batman logo on giant Hall H video screen.
Snyder also revealed the script was still being written and said, ''I'm so excited to begin working again with Henry Cavill in the world we created, and I can't wait to expand the DC Universe in this next chapter. Let's face it, it's beyond mythological to have Superman and our new Batman facing off, since they are the greatest Super Heroes in the world.''
The movie is set to begin production in 2014 and will be released in 2015.
Sounds like this is going to be one hell of an epic film!
