Elizabeth Olsen has been cast in forthcoming Marvel film The Avengers: Age of Ultron, ending weeks of speculation regarding her potential involvement in the film.
The 24-year-old actress has been strongly linked to the role of The Scarlet Witch – a part originally offered to Saoirse Ronan, who turned it down.
Speaking to the Wall Street Journal, returning cast-member Samuel L. Jackson – Nick Fury in the popular franchise – revealed Olsen's casting, but admitted he was still in the dark about her role.

“I think we begin shooting before the March of next year," he said. 'I know we're shooting in London, that James Spader is Ultron and going to be the bad guy and that we added Ms. Olsen.
“I don't know what she's doing, if she's on the inside or the outside. I haven't seen a script.”
The film – scheduled for release in 2015 – will also star Robert Downey, Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo and Jeremy Renner.
