Billy Ray Cyrus only wants Miley Cyrus to be happy.
The country singer and actor has chimed in on the debate concerning his daughter’s controversial antics and says he’s glad she is the best version of herself she has ever been.
The 52-year-old watched her appearance on America's Today show on Monday morning where she said: "My plan is focussing on right now and continuing what I'm doing because I'm the happiest I've ever been in my whole life. So I'm really happy to be here."
Billy Ray tweeted his feelings about her comment later on. "Wanna know how I feel as a Father? Just heard my daughter say @MileyCyrus 'I'm the happiest I've ever been in my whole life'. All I ever wanted," he wrote.
The 20-year-old singer shared in the interview that Billy Ray and her mother Tish Cyrus have always supported her no matter what others say about her adult image.
"For me, my parents have always just been about being really who you are and figuring that out," Miley continued.
"And what's good about that is I trust them a lot. I can go to them with pretty much anything.
"There's been a lot of kids who have to hide things from their parents that I don't have too because my parents are just accepting and that's what real love is."
