Adele could be following in Britney Spears' lead with a lucrative Las Vegas residency deal that could see the Brit singer pocketing as much as $40 million.
Britney is gearing up to kick off her two-year stint at Vegas' Planet Hollywood on December 2, after announcing her big news with a desert stunt last month. But it looks like holiday-makers in Sin City could have more choice when it comes to seeing music icons in concert as Adele is reportedly considering a series of gigs in the city too.
The Sun report that casinos and venues are locked in a bidding war over the Skyfall hit-maker, with the figure of $40 million floated for a long-term run similar to Britney's.
''Stacks of Las Vegas casinos are desperate to get Adele on billboards as a headliner in this town. The highest figure being touted is $40 million but it could be even higher," an insider has claimed to the paper.

According to the source, Adele has been getting some advice from her pal Sir Elton John who thinks the mum of one should definitely consider the offers:
"Elton's been a really good friend to her and they've been Skypeing to share parental advice. But he is a businessman too, and has been telling Adele Vegas residency could secure a really good future for her family.''
Adele and her fiancé Simon Konecki welcomed their son Angelo a year ago with a residency offering the star some stability in her career. Sir Elton apparently also thinks the deal would cement the young singer's place in musical history:
''It would mean she would join the ranks of legends including Rod Stewart, Celine Dion and Elvis Presley who all made fortunes out of playing there.''
