It's no secret that Kanye West fancies himself as a bit of an artist and he has now revealed that fine art was in fact his first love, with music being used merely as a tool to get his opinions across more directly.
The 36-year-old often likes to extend his artistic works beyond that of music, and has showcased his ability in fashion and design during his lengthy career and it seem that it's all stemmed from the musicians original love of fine art.
"My original creative background was fine art," he has told Rolling Stone magazine.
"By the time I was 14, I was in national competitions for art, and I actually went to school for art. Sometimes I actually forget that."
The Bound 2 star revealed that it's only when he's touring and creating his show's backdrops that he remembers why he got into music in the first place.

"Except for when I tour and I look back at the stage and say, 'Wait a second, I forgot this was the whole trick I pulled on everyone to make them think I was a rapper,a musician or celebrity when the entire time it's all been a giant art project.'"
The rapper, who this year had his first child with reality star Kim Kardashian, also confessed that he only got in to the music so that he could use it as a platform to get his "opinion" across in a much "stronger" and more direct format.
He explained: "I thought my opinion wasn't strong enough with what I was painting.
"When I would see my own work, I never thought I would visually be able to become one of the masters -- I thought I had a stronger opinion when I worked on music. I got a stronger response."
The Love Lockdown star's Yeezus tour has seen him put on shows that are nothing short of eccentric and he has made some shocking outbursts during his time on stage.
