Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones devastated fans when they announced their separation in May last year. However, the pair have since been able to patch things up and their 14-year relationship appears stronger than ever with rumours that a vow renewal may even take place.

Hollywood couple, Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones are reportedly planning to renew their marriage vows, despite splitting up during the summer of 2013. The golden duo have since managed to work things out and are now planning to reaffirm their love for one another on the 25th September this year, according to a source.

An insider told Grazia magazine: "Michael and Catherine have been through a lot together over the last few months."

"They would love to renew their wedding vows and have thought about doing it on their shared birthday, 25 September."

The source also revealed that Michael and Catherine have undergone therapy to help resolve their issues and maintain a healthy relationship for the sake of their two children, 13-year-old son, Dylan and 10-year-old daughter, Carys.

"Counselling has been a massive help for Catherine and Michael. They've been working on different ways to express feelings - including daily journals." said the insider.

"They only show them to each other if things get bad - it's a way of giving them an outlet.

"They're going to take one month apart a year - they've realised how important it is to take a breather and allow themselves time to take stock."

Douglas and Zeta-Jones caused a stir back in 2000 when they wed, despite the 25 year age gap. Catherine, who was 30-years-old at the time, revealed that Michael had led with the line, "I want to father your children."

In May 2013 speculation was rife that the pair where no longer together, which was later confirmed by their publicist who said: "[Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones] are taking some time apart to evaluate and work on their marriage."

After months apart, it was noted that things were back on track and in November, Catherine moved back into their shared apartment in New York.
