Peter Dinklage, star of Game Of Thrones, has told fans to "beware" of the upcoming season, and also admits that it's quite unlikely that his character Tyrion Lannister will have a "happy ending".

The HBO star is currently promoting the fourth season, and it enjoyed a huge New York premiere earlier this week and he praised the producers' willingness to kill off its huge stars.

Talking to Access Hollywood, he said: "The most recent is the Red Wedding, but for me it was the Ned Stark [death] 'cause the shock of that told a lot about like - narrative, especially on TV, has been pretty traditional, and the fact that we killed the protagonist really early on in our series was just amazing."

Peter also added: "And why not? And horribly tragic, and [it] really set up the world that we dealt."

Of what Game Of Thrones has in store for Tyrion as we move into the fourth season, he said that he is struggling with other members of the Lannister family.

"He's trying to still juggle what he should be doing and what he wants to be doing, and if anybody out there has read the books… that sort of scenario doesn't work out for anyone - whether it be Westeros or New York City or wherever," he said.

"So that doesn't look like that's gonna have a happy ending, does it?"

Game of Thrones returns to our screens on HBO on Sunday, April 6, and will be followed just a day later on Sky Atlantic in the UK.
