Mikael Persbrandt, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug actor, has been jailed for five months for buying 12 grams of cocaine.
The Swedish star played shape-shifting monster Beorn who shelters Gandalf, the dwarfs and Bilbo Baggins from the orcs in the film.
The 51-year-old was charged with ten other people, after his number was found on a drug dealer's phone.
His lawyer Per Liljekvist has argued that the number was no proof that he had been buying the drugs and stated that Persbrandt had been at a party on the evening when it was alleged the drugs had been bought, and that he left his phone unattended.

The actor was sentenced to five months in jail by a Stockholm court, but immediately appealed through his lawyer, with the case set to go to the appeals court.
The prosecutor Lars Agren said the case was strong against the actor though: "I think there is sound evidence and it was a sound investigation", he said according to the Daily Mail.
