Taylor Schilling is a beautiful woman, but it turns out that one of the reasons she loves to play Piper Chapman on Orange is the New Black is because she doesn’t have to worry about the normal pressures of being a woman.
The actress is being featured in Allure Magazine’s July issue, and opened up about what it’s like to not have to worry about how her clothes fit while on the show. She finds it quite liberating.
"It's totally liberating," she said. "There's freedom in not having to make it about how my jeans fit or what my boobs look like in a top. All I have to do now is play."

Although Taylor doesn’t have to worry about body image in her role, she hasn’t always had this luxury. She struggled with self-esteem in her youth.
"It was tough at home, and it was tough at school... And my experience was painful, so painful,” she explained. “There was a period of time I had very short hair, and I had glasses, and I was very tall for my age."
As an adult, however, the situation is quite different now. Although she is beautiful, she doesn’t want her beauty to represent everything about her.
"I don't feel bound by my face or my body," she revealed. "I don't feel like that's the biggest gift I have to offer the world. I feel like there are more parts of me to offer than that."
Orange is the New Black currently airs on Netflix and began airing season two on June 6.
