Courteney Cox might reside in Hollywood, but it seems the actress couldn't resist the rustic charm of her fiance Johnny McDaid's Irish hometown of Derry during a recent visit, and she even won the approval of his entire family while she was there!

The former Friends star recently paid a trip to the town to visit the family of her husband-to-be and it seems the star went down a treat.

Speaking to Northern Ireland's Sunday Life, Pauline McDaid (Johnny's mother) told the publication: "We all love her. She felt at home here."

Johnny, who also lives in Los Angeles, even took the time to show Courteney the places he visited regularly whilst growing up, something he was chuffed about!

"John is very much a Derryman. So to be able to show Courteney around where he grew up and around his history, he was as proud as punch. They are head over heels in love, and it is lovely to see how happy they are together," his mother gushed.

The Chasing Cars hitmaker also took Courteney the grave of his father, who sadly passed away in July 2011.

"Courteney was very anxious to see John's home and we took her around and showed her where John grew up. We also went up to the grave, and that was quite, well, as you can imagine... John is obivously upset that his daddy isn't going to meet her."

The Cougar Town star seems to be so fond of Derry that she even attempted the accent, and it seems she succeeded at it too, as Pauline added: "She even picked up some Derry phrases when she was here. And with her being an actress, she can do the best Derry accent."

Courteney was previously married to David Arquette before the pair divorced last year. They have one daughter together, Coco Arquette, who the actress also brought with her to meet Johnny's family.
