Lady Gaga has paid tribute to Amy Winehouse by taking to Twitter over the weekend and saying that the star "changed pop music forever."
Paying tribute to the talented artist who sadly passed away on Saturday, Lady Gaga thanked Amy for giving her "hope" after Amy proved that a singer with a jazz background could be a successful mainstream artist.
Lady Gaga tweeted: "Amy changed pop music forever. I remember knowing there was hope, and feeling not alone because of her. She lived jazz, she lived the blues."
Speaking about Amy in a previous interview, Digital Spy reports Lady Gaga saying: "Amy is a real artist... I watch performances from Amy where I swear she didn't hit a note, and she was shot and shot deep on something, but I can't take my eyes off that beautiful girl. There's something about her that's so honest."
We send our condolences to Amy's family and friends.
We pay tribute to one of the greatest talents...
