Whitney Houston’s death may have left a sombre mood at the Grammys last night but the stars still came out in force to celebrate.

Big winner, Adele, was the talk of the town amongst her fellow singers with Katy Perry tweeting: “@Officialadele show em how its done, like a BOSS #cutestsweetestmostdeservingest.”

Rihanna also got in on the congratulatory tweets by saying: “2 more Grammys to add to our collection, Lol! Adele I love u!”

Meanwhile, Amy Winehouse’s parents were also there to pick up an award on behalf of their late daughter. Amy’s dad, Mitch tweeted: “I am a little disappointed that apart from the award Amy wasn't mentioned. Apart from that, it went well.”

Adele wasn’t the only performer to be showered in celebrity compliments. Jessie J said: @chrisbrown WOW what a performance. #grammys I wish I could dance like that.”
With Nikki Minaj adding: “OMG @ that chris brown performance. >>>>>>>> SHUT DOOWWWNNNN.”

Elsewhere, some stars just turned-up for the fun of it, with Kelly Rowland tweeting: “One of my best moments? Getting ready for #TheGRAMMYs #makeitplatinum #paid.”

Amongst the happiness there was of course sadness. Many stars tweeted their condolences for the passing of Whitney Houston with Fergie saying: “Whitney was a vocal idol for me as a young girl. I am so sad.”
