Yet another music festival tragedy has been reported over the weekend, as a teenage girl was pronounced dead at yesterday’s Vans Warped Tour in Toronto, Canada.
Fans discovered the youngster dead as she lay on the grass at Toronto’s Molson Ampitheatre during punk group ‘Chelsea Grin’s’ set, but it was soon revealed that the girl, reportedly named Taylor Nesseth, wasn’t breathing and she was rushed to hospital before being pronounced dead later on yesterday (July 15).
Fellow festival-goers were quick to call 911 and even attempted CPR themselves but they were unable to revive her. A host of punk bands that were playing throughout the day have since tweeted, with the hash tag #RIPTaylor trending pretty much as soon as the news broke, throughout yesterday and early hours of today (July 16).
The teenager, 19, apparently tweeted the morning of Warped: "Have to be up in 10 minutes...oh well. Warped tour today! I'd say I'm excited, but that's not enough."
Her fave band All Time Low’s front man Alex has since taken to Twitter to say: “Taylor: A comrade, a friend, a hustler, an enthusiast, a dreamer, a sweetheart-- I didn't know her well, but I'm hit hard by her passing.”
He then tweeted later on in the day: “Per today's very tragic events, take a minute to really appreciate all that you have as a human being. Grow. Live. Respect. Love”
A cause of death is yet to be released.
Our thoughts go out to Taylor’s friends and family, yet another life lost too young. RIP.
