TV presenter and pianist Myleene Klass has been announced as the new brand ambassador for Littlewoods, and with it designed a whole new celebrity autumn/winter 2012 collection.
The 34-year-old mum of two put her impending divorce behind her last night, as she launched her first women’s fashion collection at St. Martins Lane hotel amidst a salon showroom filled with eponymous beverages named ‘Myleene’s Martinis’ and duck spring rolls on silver platters.
Entertainmentwise got a glimpse of Myleene’s new range in the flesh, designed to reflect and compliment the many different roles of a busy working mum, and we’re happy to tell you it all looks great.
Myleene showcased the 24-piece collection that includes dressed down jackets and jumpers alongside glamorous cocktail dresses, with prices ranging from £30 to £150.
Expect to see autumnal navy’s, deep reds and pops of vibrant colour and animal print embodied in knitted or lace dresses, blouses and floral skirts.
Entertainmentwise’s best picks from the range include the Jersey Maxi Dress, £69, a simple yet flattering black collar frock, and the mixed print Maxi Dress, £110, which features leopard and floral prints entwined with a red waistbelt.
And despite being designed for ‘real women,’ the accessible collection has been created for those who are in love with fashion and features the must-gave staples for the ultimate autumn/winter wardrobe, including a classic trench coat, tea dresses, an edgy biker jacket and elegant body con dresses, all of which epitomise Myleene’s feminine style.
On launching her new fashion collection, Myleene said: “It is a really exciting day for me today, as some of you know I’ve been in this industry for 11 years and I’ve been to a million photoshoots and worn a million and one other people’s clothes and modelled for so many other people, and it seemed like such a natural progression to have my own range.
“I love clothes, I’m like any other woman out there, and this has just been a dream come true to create with the Littlewoods family."
She continued: ''It’s been wonderful to sit in the design room, to draw up these clothes, to find exciting patterns, exciting colours; clothes for the beach, clothes for glamorous occasions, clothes for running the kids to school.
''Clothes for people like yourself, myself, busy working mums who just want their clothes to do the job that they’re supposed to do. I’ve just done my job in my clothes!’’ She added.
And Gareth Jones, group retail director at Shop Direct Group, which owns Littlewoods, said: "We couldn’t be happier to be working with Myleene, who is the epitome of a hardworking mum and admired by our customers for her style, confidence and down to earth approach, and I am proud to say this is our top celebrity collection already."
