A controversial slimming product that has been endorsed by reality star Kim Kardashian has been BANNED from sale in Australia by the 'medicines watchdog'. Oo-er!
Kim Kardashian has recently said that the weightloss product has helped her lose weight, but endorsement of diet brand QuickTrim has caused controversy across the globe, as it's effectiveness and safety have been called into question. Oh dear!
After being sued earlier in the year for backing the weight loss products that supposedly don't work, the QuickTrim Suppress and Burn diet pills have now been reportedly banned in Australia, due to the wording on the packaging.
It has been reported by Australian Doctor that the tablets were cancelled from the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods on Tuesday because there was "insufficient evidence to support the indications for the product, [so] the certification made by the applicant ... was incorrect".
The product has Kim K's face on the packaging and she spent a lot of time promoting the pills in a promotional tour of Sydney last month. The news comes after Kardashian and her sister Khloe were named in a £5million class action lawsuit in New York earlier this year over their endorsement of QuickTrim, which the plaintiffs have alleged is ineffective and unhealthy.
However, this hasn't stopped Kim STILL trying to sell the brand and has been busy tweeting away saying that the pills have helped her lose the weight that she's recently added on to her curvacious figure.
The reality star wrote on Twitter at the beginning of October, "Since I started QuickTrim again a few weeks ago, I'm down 6 lbs!!! Yay best feeling. I was getting discouraged but now I'm so motivated!"
However, is it really worth risking your health to lose a little weight, Kim?
Writing on her blog the Keeping up With The Kardashians star admitted that she had got a bit lapse when it comes to her workout regime.
She said: “I have gained some weight… but I guess being happy and comfortable does that to you.” “But it’s all good! I am back in the gym, watching what I eat and that combined with starting QuickTrim again means I’m feeling positive.”
She added: “I just want to be at my target weight and feel good about myself. I hate feeling heavy and lazy and it’s not a nice feeling when my clothes don’t fit. Just gotta stay focused!”
Don't lose too much weight Kim...we love your curves!
