She might have released a book called 'Celebrate' but after disappointing sales it's the last thing Pippa Middleton will have on her mind as Kate Middleton's little sister's party guide has been a flop.
The book, which Miss Middleton received a £400k advance for, was reportedly 177th on Amazon's best selling book list with sales of just 2,189 in it's first week in the UK according to The Independent, despite being discounted from £25 to £12.
The party guide isn't exactly flying off the shelves in the US either as despite Pippa's popularity with the yanks, it's sitting at a dismal 303 in the book charts. The flop of the book is unsurprising after it was almost universally panned by critics.
The Irish Sun reviewer wrote: “Ah yes, that famous arse appears in the opening line—and the rest of the book seems to consist of Pippa talking out of it.”
At her London book launch the Duchess of Cambridge's younger sister said, according to the Independent, that she was looking forward to a future as a writer.
"It has been a crazy couple of years since my sister's wedding but it's had its upsides and downsides," she announced.
"I just feel really fortunate to be able to build a career as a writer."
Let's hope her next effort is a little better received. In the book the 29 year-old acknowledges her royal connection helped her get ahead in the publishing world.
"It is a bit startling to achieve global recognition before the age of 30 on account of your sister, your brother-in-law and your bottom," the party planner wrote. "One day I might be able to make sense of this. In the meantime I think it's fair to say that it has its upside and its downside."
Pippa added, "I certainly have opportunities many can only dream of – but in most ways I'm a typical girl in her 20s trying to forge a career and represent herself in what can sometimes seem rather strange circumstances. I am by nature an optimist so I tend to concentrate on the advantages. One of the most attractive has been the chance to publish Celebrate."
She might change her mind on that one!
