The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are not ones to shy away from events for a good cause, and it has just been confirmed that the young royals will be attending the 2012 British Military Tournament in December.

Kate and Wills are set to be impressed by one of the largest and most breathtaking performances of military theatre in the world, supported by The Boeing Company, and raises much needed funds for the three national charities of Her Majesty's Armed Forces.

The Soldiers' Charity, The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity and The Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund will be the charities involved in the fundraising event.

And it looks like the presence of Kate and Wills are quite excited about a royal appearance, with Martin Rutledge, Chief Executive of ABF The Soldier's Charity saying: “We are thrilled that TRH The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will attend this year’s British Military Tournament.''

''Not only is the tournament an exciting spectacle and a great family day out, it is our biggest fundraising event and brings together the three single Service charities supporting every generation of our military family,'' he added.

''To have The Duke and Duchess in attendance is a true honour.”

The fundraising event will take place at Earls Court from 8-9 December, with the two hour show telling the story of the life and times of Her Majesty The Queen.

The spectacular arena production will feature battle re-enactments, death defying stuns, legendary military ceremonial displays and other eye-boggling treats.
