Simon Cowell may not be a lot of people's most favourite person in the world, but we were pretty shocked to hear that somebody had called 911 yesterday (November 25) to say that the X Factor judge had been 'bound and gagged' in his home.
Sources have told TMZ that a female caller called police to tell that Simon was 'duct taped in his home and being held hostage'.
The website then claims that police responded in force but found nothing and Simon was at home at the time, perfectly fine.
This is the latest in a string of swatting incidents, with other victims including Ashton Kutcher, Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber.
Well, we're glad to hear Mr. Cowell's alive and well!
Meanwhile, swatting drama aside, the media mogul is said to be 'desperate' to return to the UK X Factor in a bid to revive ratings on the flailing show, according to his best friend Sinitta.
Sinitta has spoken to the Sunday People and has insisted Cowell is planning a dramatic return to our shores following his success on the US version of the show.
"This has been the worst series ever and Simon wants to come back. He has so much affection for the UK show, he is the boss and he wants to be back on UK TV,” she tells the publication.
A spokesman for Simon also appears to back up the claim, confirming last night: “He has not ruled out returning to the show as a possibility in the future.”
"He is a control freak. He has his ways and his methods to his madness. Only he will think something and only he will understand it and he is able to see what is missing. But it’s hard to steer a ship from the other side of the world. You can’t teach someone what to think or what to do. I can feel his frustration."
What do we think readers? Should Simon return to the X Factor?
