Is Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge pregnant?

Prince William has given the biggest hint yet that wife the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton is expecting their first baby, after he was presented with a gift for his first child while on a walk about in Cambridge.

Rather than decline to accept a baby grow, personalised for a royal babe, the future king smiled coyly and gave the gift to an aid. Well-wisher Samantha Hill surprised the 30 year-old with the gift when the couple visited Cambridge earlier today.

The baby romper suit had a picture of the helicopter with the words 'Daddy's little co-pilot' emblazoned across it, making reference to the prince's work as an RAF Search and Rescue pilot.

Speaking of the gift, Ms Hill told The Mirror: “I made it for when his little one comes along, he’s a helicopter pilot so his baby will think his daddy is cool."

“When I gave it to him he said ‘I’ll keep that’ and handed it to his aide.”

The couple have been surrounded by rumours they're expecting after a former school friend of the Duchess, Jessica Hay, told Australian mag New Idea, that the couple are expecting a child but will wait until December to announce it.

While William might have just been putting the gift aside ready for when they do have children, baby fever certainly seems to have taken hold of the royal couple. But is it affecting them?

Now magazine have claimed all the speculation is beginning to affect Kate, who is feeling the pressure to produce a royal heir. But from Will's relaxed reaction today, it seems the subject of a baby is more of a happy subject than a problem.

The couple arrived in Cambridge today, for their very first visit since becoming the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on their wedding day last year.

Speaking at his joy at finally being able to visit the cathedral city, speaking at a reception for the couple at the university's Senate House, the future king said: "We both feel immense pride at being associated with Cambridge, a place renowned the world over for its dynamism, beauty and learning, and it is lovely for us to be here together today."

Lets hope it's not too long before the couple can put the baby romper suit to good use!
