Wendy Williams has ditched her glamorous rags to feature in an advertising campaign for PETA (People For The Ethical Treatment of Animals).

The TV chat show host unveiled the poster on Wednesday as she stood in front of a crowd in Times Square.

Speaking about the I'd Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur campaign, she said in a statement: "We should all try to be comfortable in our own skin and let animals keep theirs."

The presenter has changed her tune as according to PETA, the Dancing With The Stars alumni and former radio show host "once wore mink and fox fur."

The organisation commented: "Wendy also encourages people who have fur coats to donate them to PETA so that they can be given to the homeless.

PETA is working with shelters in Wendy's home state on coat drives this winter—something that is in great demand as the numbers of needy and displaced people have increased following Hurricane Sandy."
