Family Guy Invading Springfield To Spice Up The Simpsons

It's fair to say that the Griffins of Family Guy and The Simpsons haven't always seen eye-to-eye, but the two animation behemoths are set to unite as the creator of Family Guy, Seth MacFarlane is set to guest star on the iconic Fox cartoon.

The premiere episode of the 25th season will feature Seth as a married man trying to get Marge in the sack.

The shows haven't exactly been feuding, but one episode, The Italian Bob, of Matt Groening's show did include an accusation of plagiarism against Family Guy. The creators of South Park, Trey Parker and Matt Stone have also said that Simpsons writers sent them flowers after they made an episode that was critical of MacFarlane's show.

However relations between the shows' creators and writers are friendly enough to allow Seth to take a role.

According to PerezHilton, Simpsons executive  producer Al Jean said: "There’s been a little rivalry. We’re both humour shows and we make jokes, but it’s always been friendly… We thought we had a great part that he’d be perfect for, and it would be great to have him on our show, so it worked out just right."

MacFarlane seems to be everywhere at the moment, after his live-action and animated comedy film 'Ted' took $500m worldwide the star was tapped up to become next year's Oscar host, and he's also said that a possible Family Guy movie is in the works.
