X Factor star James Arthur has responded to a joke by controversial comedian Frankie Boyle.
The singer clashed with the comic when he was called a "cross between a tramp and a duckling" on Twitter.
Frankie had tweeted during last night's show: "James McArthur is like a cross between a tramp and a duckling #xfactor"
James responded this morning: "Poor old man making yet more s**t jokes about Xfactor because he knows that's the only way he can get attention any more #prat"
Boyle retalliated: "I think if I wanted attention I'd sing covers on a talent show, inked up like a schooldesk in remedial class."
Getting more riled up, James snapped: "Your aboud as funny as aids.. Your a sad man and I can't wait to see you coz it's about time someone gave you a reality check." (sic)
When a follower tweeted: "@frankieboyle @jamesarthur23 Atleast he has some talent....", James replied: "@Starky1878 @frankieboyle what you mean as apposed to telling desperately bad jokes? Perhaps you'd have gained more respect going my route"
Boyle retalliated: "@JamesArthur23 "apposed"? I hope you didn't spell your own tattoos. I also hope Simon's demonic jizz boils through your vocal cords."
Yesterday Frankie made a dig at X Factor judge Tulisa as well. When she promoted the show's semi-final, he quipped that she's "the last person I'd want around a semi".
