Kelly Clarkson’s fiancé needed a little persuasion before proposing to the US singing sensation, it has been reported today.
According to Blake Shelton, who is managed by the singer’s fiancé Brandon Blackstock, it was him who had to give the artist manager a few stern words before he plucked up the courage to propose,.
“I told Brandon, Man you need to grow up and figure out that you need to marry this girl.”
Shelton, who is managed by Kelly’s fiancé, was adamant he pop the question, adding: “ I told him, you need to get your head out of your ass and ask that girl to marry you.”
Blake who is a mentor on the US hit talent show The Voice told People magazine: “I’m going on the record to saying that I will do the music at the wedding or whatever they want to do. I will be that guy I will play for four hours if I have to.”
Kelly, 30, who burst onto our TV screens in 2002 after winning the US talent show American Idol was clearly elated by the proposal and tweeted her fans her excitement. “so lucky to be with the greatest man ever," she wrote.
A fan of the couple’s union, Shelton added: “She’s the best thing to ever happen to him.”
