It's been a terrific year in terms of style news, what with dazzling red carpet gowns, Kristen Stewart's fashover and celeb couples co-ordinating more than ever, so we've ended our 2012 round-ups with our favourite fashion triumphs.

You may have all been expecting it, but our number one spot would have to go to Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge. Mainly for tolerating our endless scrutiny on why she should banish those court shoes and slip into something sexier.

But despite our criticism, Kate has held up a strong front and always dresses in what she feels comfortable in.

And even though we're aware she's dazzled in numerous gowns this year, our favourite DOC fashion moment would have to be her Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen pink embroidered dress that was reminiscent of the late Jackie Kennedy.

In second place would have to be Kristen Stewart and her see-through Zuhair Murad gold dress which she wore to the LA premiere of Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part II.

K.Stew has wowed us this year with her triumphant fashion evolution thanks to her stylist Tara Swennen, but this sheer sexy gold gown would have to be her hottest red carpet look yet, showing off some bum and legs, topping it off with a berry lip and her trademark tousled locks.

Taylor Swift nabs our third spot with ease as she not only impresses on a daily with her preppy yet feminine style, but also knows how to work her style credentials on the red carpet.

Our favourite look of the year from T-Swifty, and in general, would have to be her appearance at the Country Music Awards whereby she stunned in a red and nude floral Jenny Packham gown emblazoned with intricate sequin detailing.

Next up would have to be our fashion favourite of the year, Miranda Kerr, who consistently wowed us with her impeccable street style almost every day of 2012. No exaggeration.

The 29-year-old Victoria's Secret model has impressed us with a fair few looks, but the one that has stuck in our heads the most was when she visited the Vogue offices in a showstopping Victoria Beckham white dress.

Miranda showed off her incredible catwalk figure to the max in this timelessly elegant number, adding the cherry on top of the most perfect outfit ever with a pale blue Prada bag and nude Lanvin stilettos. Gorgeous.

Last but by no means least would have to be Emma Stone in the best gothic gown of the year at The Amazing Spider-Man premiere in Paris earlier this year.

The 23-year-old comedy actress, who is dating her Spider-Man co-star Andrew Garfield, showed everyone how to channel vampy glamour in a traffic stopping floor-length Gucci gown featuring a thigh-high split.

Emma pulled off the gothic inspired look with ease due to her fair complexion and a little help from dark plum lippie, showing off her figure in the sequin floral encrusted deep-V dress, topped off with simple black stilettos.
