Americans are said to be so up in arms about Piers Morgan’s recent comments about the need for more gun control in the US amid the devastating Sandy Hook shootings, that they are calling for him to be deported.
The CNN host and former editor of The Mirror newspaper came head-to-head with a gun proponent during a segment of his evening show, Piers Morgan Tonight, who was proposing the right for teachers to be allowed to carry a weapon in the wake of the recent school shootings in Newtown Connecticut.
Clashing with his guest’s opinion, the notoriously outspoken 47-year-old slammed the suggestion, saying to his guest: "You’re an unbelievably stupid man, aren’t you?"

It seems that Pier’s anti-gun talk has ruffled the feathers of multiple US citizens who have now launched a campaign to get the British anchorman deported.
An excerpt of the petition obtained by RadarOnline reads: "British Citizen and CNN television host Piers Morgan is engaged in a hostile attack against the U.S. Constitution by targeting the Second Amendment."
"We demand that Mr. Morgan be deported immediately for his effort to undermine the Bill of Rights and for exploiting his position as a national network television host to stage attacks against the rights of American citizens."
But ever so cool Piers has been taking the backlash in his stride and jumped on twitter to point a few vitial thing out.
"Ironic U.S. gun rights campaign to deport me for 'attacking 2nd Amendment rights' - is my opinion not protected under 1st Amendment rights?'' he wrote.
Following up his tweet with a link to the petition, Piers added: "Just 4821 signatures needed to take my deportation petition to the point Obama has to respond. I urge you to sign."
