Lostprophets star Ian Watkins has been remanded in custody until spring 2013 awaiting trial for several child sex offence charges.
The 35-year-old from Pontypridd, appeared in court on December 31 facing six child sex charges including possession and distribution of indecent images in addition to conspiring to rape a one-year-old baby.
Only speaking to confirm his name, Watkins, dressed in a black suit, shirt and tie, appeared via video link at Cardiff Crown Court from Parc Prison, Bridgend.
A judge ruled during the preliminary hearing that Watkins remain in custody until March 11 where his plea for bail will be heard. Watkins stands accused along with a female fan, aged 24, of conspiring to rape a child under the age of 13.
The woman faces the same charges as Watkins, while a second woman, 20, has been charged with five of the six offences, except conspiring to rape.
Both women have also been remanded until 2013 but can not be identified for legal reasons. The Lostprophets frontman is a former boyfriend of Fearne Cotton, whom he dated for less than a year in 2005, and has also been linked to model and TV presenter Alexa Chung.
The remaining members of the band released a statement shortly after the charges were made public, saying they were "shocked" to learn the news of Watkins' arrest.
"Following charges made today against Ian Watkins, we find ourselves in a state of shock," the statement read.
"We are learning about the details of the investigation along with you. It is a difficult time for us and our families, and we want to thank our fans for their support as we seek answers."
