The singer aired his disppointment via Twitter

No one can ever accuse Adam Lambert of not being brutally honest when it comes to voicing his opinions as he did just that in a scathing Twitter critique of the movie 'Les Miserables'.

The former American Idol star took the social networking site to vent his disappointment at the cast members' average singing abilities, writing: "the singing was so distracting."

In a series of tweets, the 30-year-old musician criticised the production team for not smoothing out the vocals of some of the Hollywood stars (no names mentioned), adding: "with that cast, they should have studio recorded and sweetened the vocals."

"Les Mis: Visually impressive w great Emotional performances. But the score suffered massively with great actors PRETENDING to be singers. It's an opera. Hollywoods movie musicals treat the singing as the last priority. (Dreamgirls was good)."

Lambert admitted that the singing was so bad it single handedly ruined the movie for him despite receiving crtical acclaim and being tipped to clean up several awards at next year's oscars.

"I felt like I should ignore the vocals and focus on the emotional subtext- but the singing was so distracting at times it pulled me out,' he said in another tweet, adding: "The industry will say 'these actors were so brave to attempt singing this score live' but why not cast actors who could actually sound good?". he added

However, the singer saved all his praise for leading lady Anne Hathaway, urging his followers: "One more clarification: DO go see it for Anne Hathaways performance. It's was breathtaking."
