Julianne Hough enjoyed a weekend with her girlfriends following news of her split from Ryan Seacrest, with the actress spotted taking in the action at an LA Lakers game last night with Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev.

The newly single star was pictured arriving at the basketball game with her BFF Nina. Dressed down in skinny jeans, leaher jackets and boots the girls were spotted enjoying a good gossip as they made their way inside.

Judging from Nina's Twitter account, the pals had a great time star spotting, with the cheeky star singling out ladies man Jack Nicholson in the crowd: "Just asked Jack Nicholson to take a picture WITH ME. He said no. #rejected. Haha so I took a pic of him solo¿".

What will Ian Somerhalder think Nina?

The actress also tweeted a pic of her and Julianne pouting in their courtside seats with Julianne seeming in good spirts despite her shock split from American Idol host Ryan, with the breakup of their three year relationship announced on Friday.

The star has spent the weekend surrounded by her mates including supportive Nina with the group spotted on the beach on Saturday. “Beachin' with my b**ches...@roawnacapri @morganbeau @ninadobrev and jill #friendsarethebest therapy,” Julianne tweeted later that day, after uploading an Instagram pic of the group chilling out on the sand.

Julianne and 38-year-old Seacrest's hectic work schedules are understood to be the main reason for their split – and sources claim it is for the best.

“I think this is for the good,” an insider told US Weekly. “They both just sort of knew they couldn't do it any more. He never sleeps! It's a lifestyle she couldn't handle any more.”
