David and Victoria Beckham Put Hertfordshire Mansion Up For Sale

The couple have put Beckingham Palace on the market for a cool £10million

It was their first proper family home that became known as Beckingham Palace but after 14 years David and Victoria Beckham have decided to say goodbye and have put their mansion on the market.

The couple are selling their Hertdfordshire pile but don't just want anyone moving in - they're keen to sell to a private buyer with a family and not a property developer who will turn it into luxury flats and more than likely use the Beckham name to jack up the prices.

Victoria, 38, and David, 37, bought the house in 1999, the year they were married, for £2.5million and have developed the property into a £10million family home complete with 22-acres of land, a swimming pool, recording studio, a gym, snooker room and tennis courts.

"They know there aren’t lots of individuals looking for houses of this size, and developers would jump at the chance to turn it into smaller flats, which would have added value because of the Beckham connection," a source told the Mail.

David and Victoria, along with their four children - sons Brookly, 14, Romeo, ten, Cruz, six and 20-month-old daughter Harper - moved from Los Angeles back to the UK in January when David signed for French team Paris St Germain.

The family have been renting a house in Kensington and hung onto Beckingham Palace to use at weekends, but the source added: "When they moved back from LA they thought they would use Rowneybury at weekends. But since they’ve been back they’ve been so busy in London they’ve barely been there."

They are now said to be looking for a family home in London near to Victoria's fashion house which is based in Battersea, and will be easy for David to travel to from the French capital.

But the family have kept their £11million mansion in Los Angeles to use during the holidays, including this Easter.
