Rob Kardashian advised his sister Kim Kardashian and Kanye West on baby North's name choice even though he knew it would be ridiculed. The reality star, who is now the proud uncle to his sisters baby daughter nicknamed 'Nori', praised it as a 'cool name' on Wednesday.

The Keeping Up With The Kardashians and boyfriend Kanye West have been scrutinised for their weird choice of name for their first born child. However Rob has spoken in defence of his sister and explained that it has a lot of meaning to it.

"[But] North West, it sounds cool!" he said . "[And] North is the highest point, so it has a lot of meaning to it."

Gushing on the newborn in a radio interview on Ryan Seacrest's KIIS FM radio show, he admitted that he knew the couple would be criticsed but offered some much needed advice.

The 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians' reality star continued: "I told Kim and Kanye this: I'm like, ‘Yo, people are always going to talk whether it's good or bad. There's always going to be the haters, but do what you guys feel.'" before adding: "Like, you know everyone's going to say, ‘Oh, you're coming up with some weird celebrity, crazy name.' You know how it is."

The comments come after reports that Kanye had forced the unusual name upon his girlfriend, who allegedly favoured a name begging with the letter K.

Rob, who is also uncle to his sister Kourtney's children, Mason and Peneleope, revealed that he is excited about baby Nori's arrival but he is giving the couple some room to adjust to their new roles as parents.

"When it comes to babies I like to give the person all their time with their significant other [to] let them enjoy their moment," the Arthur George sock designer said.

It seems as though the proud uncle is already splashing out on the tot, further admitting that he is already shopping for his niece.

"I'm actually looking for like a giant animal to get North," he said. "The baby came a month early. It's so small. She needs a big stuffed animal."
