Scarlett Johansson Calls ScarJo Nickname 'Tacky And Flippant'

Actress not a fan of her abbreviated moniker

Celebrity names have been affectionately shortened since Twilight fans dubbed their leading stars RPatz and KStew - but just don't dare abbreviate Scarlett Johansson's.

Because unlike the vampire movie stars, the Avengers star has said she hates being shortened to ScarJo and actually finds it rather insulting.

Speaking to the latest edition of Glamour magazine, the actress said: "I associate that name with, like, pop stars.

"It sounds tacky. It's lazy and flippant... there's something insulting about it."

Scarlett Johansson says she hates her "ScarJo" abbreviation (WENN)

And it's not the only thing that drives her mad - she also hates all the attention she receives because of her beauty and figure.

She explained: "Actresses get stupid questions asked of them all the time, like, ''How do you stay sexy?' or 'What's your sexiest quality?' All these ridiculous things you would never ask a man."

Scarlett, who is reportedly expecting her first child with French journalist fiancé Romain Dauric, also said she has struggled to get people to recognise her filmography as many just focus on her first hit movie, Lost In Translation.

Lost in Translation catapulted Scarlett to fame in 2003 when she starred alongside Bill Murray in the Oscar-winning movie which also landed Scarlett a Best Actress Bafta.

But she said: "When I made Lost in Translation, I was 17. Now I'm 29... That's a normal side effect of being a young actor.

"You're captured in a certain time of your life, and it's hard for people to move past that."
