They say the camera adds ten pounds, which makes it all the more miraculous when you consider these formally fat TV stars are now looking slim, trim and better than ever!
Some have dramatically lost weight, such as Gavin and Stacey co-stars Ruth Jones and James Corden, who played star-crossed lovers Nessa and Smithy in the popular BBC comedy. Together they have lost a combined nine and a half stone, with Ruth dropping from 17½ to 13 stone over the last two years, leading to fellow Gavin and Stacey star Rob Bryon to declare the pair can never take up their previous roles due to their considerable weight loss!
Others have competed in competitions which have caused the weight to simply fall off, for instance Welsh opera singer Katherine Jenkins lost nearly two stone during her stint on Dancing With The Stars, which had fans worrying that her sudden weight loss was down to an eating disorder.
The Only Way Is Essex star James 'Arg' Argent recently ran the London Marathon in April, which he did in a bid to get over his ex-girlfriend and fellow TOWIE star Lydia Bright, and the dedicated reality star shrunk from 18 stone to 16 stone in a mere matter of months.
His co-star Lauren Goodger has also had a public battle with her weight, and following a series of unflattering snaps whilst on holiday in Miami, the reality star is currently trying to slim down from a size 14 to 8 by following the Cambridge Weight Plan, although the hard-partying TOWIE star is finding it hard to keep off the booze.
Although she is pregnant now, fellow reality star and party animal Nicole 'Snooki' Polizzi managed to slim down and lose an incredible 15lb from her 4 foot 9 inch frame, but the Jersey Shore star also confessed that she found it very difficult to stay off the alcohol.

Similarly Emmerdale actress Pauline Quirke had a dramatic weight loss, losing an amazing eight stone in the past year, going from 20 stone to a UK size 12/14 in a bid to get healthy, as she starting suffering from problems due to her larger size.
Glee star Amber Riley was forced to lose weight for health reasons after suffering from severe stomach cramps, dropping two dress sizes in the process. The actress had to get medical help after finding out that her diet of burgers and fast food were actually causing her to get sick, and although she doesn't mind being a curvy TV star, the actress has embraced her new found program of healthy eating and working out.
Coronation Street’s Lucy-Jo Hudson has recently been showing off a significantly slimmer figure, motivated by her wedding to Coronation Street co-star Alan Halsall in June 2009, where she shrank from a size 14 to a size 8 after a year of exercising and cutting out junk food.
Gary Barlow was once known as 'the fat one' from Take That, but after shrinking from 16st 8lb to a svelte 12st, the X Factor star is proud of his new buff physique and credits his wife Dawn, a dancer on the band’s 1995 tour, with helping him slim down and tone up.
Rob Kardashian also publicly acknowledged that his weight loss was down to female help, after appearing on Dancing With The Stars alongside professional dancing partner Cheryl Burke, and he found that her high-energy rehearsals helped him achieve his newly svelte appearance and bag hot singer Rita Ora.
