Summer may be out of the window but the best dressed stars at the Emmy Awards 2012 brightened up the red carpet in their sunny gowns last night.
With hardly a fashion faux pas in sight, the celebs looked as though they'd got together beforehand and decided they were all going to pitch up in bright yellow dresses, with the likes of Julianne Moore, Julie Bowen, Hannah Simone, Claire Danes and Leslie Mann shining bright in their summery ensembles. Safety in numbers!
Stunning redheaded actress Julianne Moore, who picked up the gong for her role as Sarah Palin in HBO's Game Change, looked incredible in her vibrant, long sleeved haute couture gown by Christian Dior which looked great with her loose, fiery locks around her shoulders and clung to her trim physique.
And it looks as though yellow was the lucky charm of the evening as Claire Danes also collected an award for her work in Homeland in a mustard Lanvin number which flaunted her growing baby bump. The cut of the loose fitting gown couldn't be more perfect for future yummy mummy's as it cinches in at the waist without gripping your tum. No spanx needed!

Fellow actress Julie Bowen also picked a yellow ensemble to collect her award for her role in Modern Family, stunned in a mermaid cut Monique Lhuillier gown which was eye blindingly bright with its neon hues.
New Girl's Hannah Simone, on the other hand, opted for a pastel yellow floor grazing Pucci gown which was both easier on the eyes and suited her olive complexion beautifully. The dress featured one strap and a clung to her gorgeous figure with a ruched texture, and she girlied the look up even more with her half up half down hairstyle and blunt fringe.

We weren't so fussed on the Big Bang Theory's Kaley Cuoco's strapless peplum Angel Sanchez gown which despite featuring the peplum design which is known to enhance curves, lost her figure in the heavy looking dress that created the illusion of wide hips.
Leslie Mann thought she'd mix it up a bit with a splash of white in her Naeem Khan dress with a beaded white halter top half and yellow flowing skirt, and we have to say, this is probably our favourite look of the yellow flock.
Leslie looked elegant with her blonde tresses scraped back into a Hollywood updo and added a further pop of colour with an exotic pair of blue stone drop earrings. We're loving her glam boho vibe!
