Karl Lagerfeld calling Adele "too fat" is not going to help business, especially as her fans are now threatening to boycott Chanel.
During a stint as guest editor of the Metro newspaper in Paris, Lagerfeld branded the 'Someone Like You' singer as being "a little too fat" for his liking, but he did concede that she had a "beautiful face" and a good voice but fans were outraged.
Curves and Chaos, an LA-based blog for bigger women, wrote: "Are you freaking kidding me? We’re done with him and Chanel as long as he’s involved with them."
The ‘fat’ comment by Lagerfeld, creative director of Chanel, has been heavily criticised.
While US PR guru Kelly Cutrone added: "If you love Adele then boycott Chanel."
Adele's spokesperson declined to comment on Chanel's creative director's remarks but in the past Adele has confessed that she loves her body and has no intention on slimming.
"I enjoy being me; I always have done. I’ve seen people where it rules their lives, you know, who want to be thinner or have bigger boobs, and how it wears them down. And I just don’t want that in my life. It’s just never been an issue – at least, I’ve never hung out with the sort of horrible people who make it an issue."
Adele is set to take the stage at the Grammys this Sunday (February 12), we don't think we'll be seeing her in Chanel.
We love Adele...
